What happens?

Japan boasts hundreds of sake breweries, so you could spend your entire life traveling the length and breadth of the country in search of the perfect drop of the magical elixir that is sake.

At this sake festival in Osaka, the sake comes to you. Makers hailing from the northerly climes of Akita and Yamagata will pour their best alongside breweries that draw on the local terroir of Mie, Tottori, Saga, Kumamoto, Hyōgo and more.

In total, 25 breweries will be present, bringing over 120 varieties of nihonshu, shōchū, and fruit liqueurs. There will also be food and entertainment.

The festival takes place on October 25 and 26.

Each day is split into two sections. The first section goes from noon to 2:10 p.m. and the second goes from 3 to 5:10 p.m. Registration opens 15 minutes before each session, and seating reservations aren’t allowed.

Tickets 2025

A tasting pass is ¥3,400 and gives you 2 hours and 10 minutes of unlimited pours of all the sake on offer, along with a 500 ml bottle of water (stay hydrated).

How to get there

The event takes place on the second floor of the Osaka Bay Tower Atrium. To get there from Osaka Station, take the Osaka Loop Line (counter-clockwise) and get off at Bentenchō Station. From there, walk about 5 minutes.
