Shirahama Fireworks Festival

8:00pm – 8:40pm
Free

Held in Wakayama since 1948, this festival sees over 3,500 fireworks light up the sky. One of the highlights is the 1000m long Niagara falls display which creates a waterfall of fire. The best place for viewing is Shirahama beach which will be filled with Yukata-clad couples and plenty of food stalls. This event is the start of the summer fireworks displays in Shirahama – small fireworks displays take place on most evenings following this one, and August 10th is the biggest.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, many events have been canceled. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
