Held in Wakayama since 1948, this festival sees over 2,500 fireworks light up the sky. One of the highlights is the 1000 meter-long Niagara Falls display, which creates a waterfall of fire. The best place for viewing is Shirahama Beach, which will be filled with yukata-clad couples and plenty of food stalls.

What happens?

This event is the start of the summer fireworks displays in Shirahama — small fireworks displays take place on most evenings throughout July and August, with August 10 being the biggest display.

Schedule 2025

Nanki Shirahama Fireworks Festa

About 2,500 fireworks will be launched on August 10, but no food stalls will be open this year. The launch time is 8:10 p.m. and ends at 8:40 p.m.
