The Zekkei Mt. Fuji Fireworks

6:30pm – 7:30pm
¥22,500 – ¥150,000

The Zekkei Mt. Fuji Fireworks is different from other fireworks displays — it offers a premium experience with fireworks blooming over Japan’s most famous landmark.

What to expect

Snap Mt. Fuji, and then settle in for the fireworks of a lifetime. This display has been choreographed by four of Japan’s most talented fireworks artisans. From the shockwaves of the explosions to the echoes reverberating off Mt. Fuji, this is an event you’ll feel.

And what would fireworks be without a festival to go with it?

Because the event is capped at 2700 attendees in a 10,000-seater venue, there is plenty of space to explore the artisan food and drinks on offer. However, for the premium packages, even more luxury is included — high-end alcohol and cuts of tuna, as well as freshly pounded mochi.

Schedule

  • 16:00: Venue opens
  • 18:30: Fireworks begin

Tickets

With all the comforts of this fireworks display, tickets are on the pricier side, and so you’re better off going in a group. A ticket for 2 people costs ¥45,000 (¥22,500 each). Buy them in advance.

Depending on the seat you want and any extras, you can go as high as the VVIP seats. These ultra fancy seats in the ski lodge itself, with unlimited drinks and food, will set you back ¥150,000!

How to get there

The Zekkei Mt. Fuji Fireworks is held at the Fujiten Snow Resort.

There’s a shuttle service from just outside Kawaguchiko Station to the venue. This will begin running from 3:00 p.m. on the day of the fireworks and depart every 30 minutes until 5:30 p.m.

Until 45 minutes after the fireworks, the shuttle service will return to Kawaguchiko Station as soon as each bus is full. Tickets (link in Japanese) for the outbound shuttle service must be reserved in advance and cost ¥4,000.

If you’d like to drive, parking is available onsite, but you’ll need to buy a parking ticket in advance for ¥2,000. Once you’ve got one, head for the Fuijten Snow Resort, which you can access through Route 139.

Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
