The Tonegawa Fireworks Festival will be held at Sakai Riverside Park.
What happens?
Award-winning pyrotechnicians will go head-to-head as 30,000 firework shells shoot into the sky for two hours. The fireworks will synchronize with lights and music as the whole of Ibaraki is illuminated.
Schedule 2026
An opening ceremony will start at 6 p.m. and the launch will start at 6:30 p.m. and last for around two hours. The venue will be open from 1 p.m.
Tickets 2026
This year’s information is yet to be confirmed. Tickets will be on sale from July 15.

While visible from a number of spots, you will need to pay to enter the majority of Sakai Riverside Park. This is to better manage visitors. Tickets start from ¥5,000 for unreserved seats on the slope and go up to ¥80,000 for premium seats.
How to get there
The riverside is only accessible by bus from either Koga Station or Tobu Dobutsukoen Station. You can also get there directly from Tokyo with a highway bus.
