The Tonegawa Fireworks Festival will be held at Sakai Riverside Park.
What happens?
Award-winning pyrotechnicians will go head-to-head as 30,000 firework shells shoot into the sky for two hours. The fireworks will synchronize with lights and music as the whole of Ibaraki is illuminated.
Schedule 2026
An opening ceremony will start at 6 p.m. and the launch will start at 6:30 p.m. and last for around two hours. The venue will be open from 1 p.m.
Tickets 2026
While visible from a number of spots, tickets are sold for three official viewing venues near the Tone River — Sakai, Goka, and Noda Sekiyado Castle.
For the Sakai venue, individual tickets start from ¥2,000 for unreserved seats on the slope and go up to ¥81,000 for premium seats. The Goka venue has a range of multi-person tickets available which include a shuttle bus or on-site parking ranging in price from ¥20,000 to ¥47,000 and the Noda Sekiyado Castle has individual photography seats, couple seats, and group boxes ranging from ¥31,000 to ¥63,000
Tickets are on sale from July 15.
How to get there
The Sakai venue is accessible by bus from Koga Station. You can also get there directly from Tokyo with a highway bus. A variety of accommodation and bus tour packages are also available via the official website.
