The holiday season lights up in a big way with massive Christmas displays, a market, and unique illuminations at Wonder Night Hill, taking place at Osaka’s Harvest Hill.
What happens?
Wonder Night Hill is one of the largest illumination events in southern Osaka.
Take a walk through a fantastical forest of lights, with themed zones like a glowing sequoia, a crystal mountain, and a swirling light tunnel, plus illuminations shaped like the park’s capybaras and sheep. The giant bayberry tree on the main stage puts on a short light-and-music show every 15 minutes, and there’s an illuminated Christmas market.
In addition to the illuminations, you can try activities like grass sledding, archery, a merry-go-round, and a Ferris wheel (most cost ¥400 a go). There are also food stalls.
Schedule 2026–27
The illuminations go from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. (last entry at 8:30 p.m.).
However, keep in mind that the illuminations will not take place every day. Here are the dates for the illuminations:
- October 30–31
- November 1–3, 6–8, 13–15, 20–23, 27–29
- Every day in December except for December 2, 9, 16, and 31
- January 2–3, 9–11, 16–17, 23–24, 30–31
- February 6–7, 11, 13–14
Tickets
- Adults: ¥1,500
- Children (4 and up): ¥800
- Children (under 4): Free
- Dogs: ¥600
Note that on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in December, plus December 23 and 24, the admission fee for adults is ¥1,800.
You need a dedicated illumination ticket: the park closes at 5 p.m., and daytime tickets aren’t valid for the evening. Tickets are sold at the gate machines from 5:15 p.m., and advance e-tickets go on sale October 17.
How to get there
To reach Sakai Green Museum Harvest Hill, take a Nankai Senboku Line train bound for Izumi-Chuo from Namba Station to Izumigaoka Station (about 22 minutes); from Osaka/Umeda, ride the Midosuji subway line to Namba first. From Izumigaoka Station, head to stop 6 at the bus terminal for the Nankai bus bound for Harvest Hill. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes and costs ¥320.
Evening buses for the illuminations only run on select dates (November 7, 14, 21–23, and 28; December 5, 12, 19, and 24–26; and February 13–14). On other dates, take the Senboku Line to Toga-Mikita Station instead, then a Nankai bus from stop 4 to Miikedai 5-chome (about 12 minutes), followed by a roughly 20-minute walk that includes some steep slopes.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
