Great People of Kanazawa Memorial Museum

Name in Japanese: 金沢ふるさと偉人館
Area: Ishikawa , Kanazawa
Address: 6-18-4 Shimo Honda-machi, Kanazawa-shi, Ishikawa-ken [map]
Access: 2.3 km from Kanazawa Station Hokuriku Shinkansen
Hours: 09:30 - 17:00

A museum dedicated to 17 notable individuals from Kanazawa (all men, ahem…) who have contributed to modern Japan.

While they are notable and there is an English pamphlet, none of the displays have English explanations, so the average tourist may be left wanting for context.

Admission is free with the Kanazawa City Cultural Facilities Admission Pass.

Only really worth a stop if you need to get out of the frequent Kanazawa rain or if you’re collecting stamps on the museum stamp rally attached to the aforementioned pass.
