Himuro Koya (Ice Hut)

A traditional ice hut, this storehouse was used to provide ice in the warmer months.

Perched on the edge of the beautiful (but man-made) mini-lake/large-pond, it is a pretty addition to the view as your stroll. On the last Sunday of January, snow is sealed into the hut until the grand opening on June 30th where it is shared with locals and visitors who come to watch.
