A Buddhist temple with a 46-meter tall pagoda. One of the most iconic photo spots in Kyoto. As you walk up towards this temple, there are an array of shops, restaurants, and cafés which you can stop by.
You can go inside on some days, when staff are present, with entry costing ¥400. Usually, it is closed and admired from afar, however.
How to get there
From Kyoto Station, take the 206 City Bus to Kiyomizumichi. From there, it is a 3-minute walk to Hōkan-ji.
