The Kadowaki Suspension Bridge, overlooking Jōgasaki Coast, is one of the area’s most iconic attractions. At 48 meters long and 23 meters high, crossing it is certainly not for the faint of heart, but it offers spectacular views of Sagami Bay.

The whole surrounding area is a designated UNESCO Global Geopark and is part of Japan’s Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.

Kadowaki Lighthouse

Next to this famous bridge is Kadowaki Lighthouse. Standing at 24.9 meters tall and free to access, this lighthouse features an observatory deck that offers stunning views of Jōgasaki Coast, the Seven Islands of Izu and Mount Amagi. Please note that there are only stairs leading to the top.

How to get there

The easiest way to get to Kadowaki Suspension Bridge is to take the Izukyuko Line to Jōgasaki-Kaigan Station. From there, it is around a 35-minute walk to the bridge itself. There is no public bus that takes you directly there.

If you are coming by car from Tokyo, it will take 2 hours using the Atsugi IC on the Tomei Expressway. There is parking nearby which is free for the first 15 minutes but ¥500 afterwards (for the day).
