Kizakura Kappa Museum is a kappa-themed sake museum in Fushimi Sake District in southern Kyoto.
Not sure what a kappa is? Well in short, it’s a humanoid turtle-like creature from Japanese folklore. They are said to be mischievous creatures who live in ponds and rivers.
The Kizakura Kappa Museum celebrates the folklore around kappa and also covers the history of the Kizakura Brewery. It’s part of the Kizakura Kappa Country complex, so there’s also a shop nearby where you can buy sake.
