Okonomimura is a mega-restaurant in bustling Naka-chu: four floors of Japanese soul food, home to 25 different okonomiyaki diners. The Hiroshima style-okonomiyaki involves a lot more engineering than the Osaka version – and is more fun to watch being made, especially when there are several on the grill at the same time. Okonomimura got started as a group of street-food stands in the 1950s, and the current four-floor building was purpose built as a destination for locals and tourists alike. It has has been one of Japan’s most popular food theme-parks since it opened. Many of the Okonomimura diners have vegetarian options, and all have English menus.
