Okonomimura is a mega-mall of okonomiyaki restaurants in bustling Naka-ku: four floors of Japanese soul food, home to 25 different okonomiyaki diners.

The Hiroshima style-okonomiyaki involves a lot more engineering than the Osaka version – and is more fun to watch being made, especially when there are several on the grill at the same time.

Okonomimura got started as a group of street-food stands in the 1950s, and the current four-floor building was purpose built as a destination for locals and tourists alike. It has has been one of Japan’s most popular food theme-parks since it opened.
