Originally constructed in 592 (and reconstructed many times since), Shitennoji is considered to be the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan.
The grounds of the temple are divided into various sectors, some free and others with entry fees as follows.
Inner Precinct: 300yen
Gokuraku-Jodo Garden: 300yen
Treasure House: 500yen
If doing some Osaka sightseeing, the temple can be easily combined with a trip to the nearby Tennoji Park.
The temple can be reached on foot in 10 minutes from Tennoji Station.
