Formerly known as Toei Kyoto Studio Park, Uzumasa Kyoto Village is a revamped film-themed attraction built around the world of samurai cinema and period drama. What to expect This is still one of the few places where you can wander through a stylized old Kyoto streetscape and catch the world of period drama up close. The sets have been rebuilt by the same art team behind major historical films and dramas. There are also interactive attractions, ninja-themed experiences, and cultural workshops where visitors can try things like tea ceremony, flower arrangement, Noh, and kyogen in period-style surroundings. The food offering has had an upgrade too. The park’s new Kyoto cuisine lineup includes ten spots, curry udon at Mimikou to tuna dishes at Shuiro Maguro, craft beer from Kyoto Brewing Co., wagashi and café offerings from Sasaya Iori and Kyoto Niomon Gozaru, yakitori from Torisei, and matcha drinks from the park-run takeaway stand Uzu Chaya. One of the biggest changes is that the park now opens into the evening, with regular night operations running until 9 p.m. Tickets and practical info General admission costs ( after 2 p.m.) for adults, and ( after 2 p.m.) for children. General admission covers entry to the park, but note that some activities cost extra. There are discounts for visitors with disabilities, as well as group rates for larger parties and school groups.
