This museum is dedicated to the art of lacquerware, with examples from across Japan as well as abroad. Known as Urushi, the technique is a local speciality but is practiced in a variety of styles across the country, with each area adding it's own style. The museum has displays with videos explaining the processes involved as well as the meanings of different designs. Unfortunately the museum is a little outside the main town, but can easily be accessed by bus. Entry is covered by the Wajima Onsenkyo Furatto Pass but otherwise costs .
