Hamaya is a fisherman’s guesthouse in the smaller village of Odomari, on the north-east side of the island.

Opened by a couple from Miyagi, the guesthouse has traditional Japanese rooms and luxurious seafood meals included in the room rate of ¥8,000. You can also enjoy fishing trips on the guesthouse boat, Hamamaru, starting from ¥11,000 per person for the day. The common spaces include an irori (traditional sunken hearth) as well as a large bath and a reasonably restrained amount of cat goods.
