Called Manga Island but with a good dose of cat-inspiration, this camping site is a great way to spend a few nights on cat-island in comfort.
The two large and three medium lodges have been designed by different manga artists and inspired by cats, making them pretty cute to say the least. The lodges range from ¥8,000 to ¥9,000 with camping spots available for ¥1,500. The site is open from mid-May to the end of October and closes on Tuesdays (meaning you also can’t stay on Monday night). It’s run by the local council and is an effort to boost tourism, explaining the reasonable rates. There are kitchens and bathrooms in the cabins but only one shop on the island, so keep that in mind and pack any unusual ingredients if you plan on cooking.
