Originally inspired by the post-disaster Hikari no Sakura Festival, launched in the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the illumination project was reimagined by the Iwaki Junior Chamber of Commerce as a symbol of co-creation and renewal.

What happens?

In recent years, around 60,000 LED lights have illuminated Iwaki Station and surrounding streets.

White and gold are the main colors you’ll see.
