Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra makes a triumphant return to Japan, visiting Tokyo, Osaka, and Tsu (Mie).
What to expect
After more than 40 years, Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra embarks on a rare and meaningful tour of Japan. The Orchestra brings together world-class artistry and powerful musical storytelling, led by Music Director Alexander Shelley, and featuring pianist Olga Scheps and Concertmaster Yosuke Kawasaki.
The program spans rich musical landscapes:
- Beethoven – Symphony No. 5: A masterpiece of drama and triumph known the world over.
- Rachmaninoff – Piano Concerto No. 2: A timeless favorite filled with sweeping emotion and dazzling virtuosity.
- Keiko Devaux – Listening Underwater (Japanese premiere): A meditative, immersive soundscape by one of Canada’s most original voices.
Audiences in Japan will experience the energy and excellence of one of Canada’s foremost orchestras — and the powerful leadership of Concertmaster Yosuke Kawasaki.

The Orchestra will tour Japan on the following dates and locations:
- Tokyo on June 3 (7 p.m.) at Suntory Hall
- Tsu (Mie) on June 5 (7 p.m.) at Mie Center for the Arts
- Osaka on June 7 (2 p.m.) at Symphony Hall
Tickets
Seats for the Mie performance start at ¥5,000 for B seats, and go up to ¥9,000 for S seats. You can buy tickets for the Mie performance online.

How to get there
The Tsu (Mie) performance will be held at the Mie Center for the Arts. To get there from Nagoya, take the Kintetsu Nagoya Line to Tsu Station (1 hour) and either walk 24 minutes or grab a bus.
