Showcasing nine traditional Japanese crafts, this village of artisans offers visitors a chance to watch history at work, and purchase items to take home.
The Akiu Traditional Craft Village was established in 1975, and gives traditional craftsmen a place to work and showcase their expertise. Visitors can also take part in various craft workshops. Crafts on display include lacquering chopsticks, making kokeshi dolls, indigo-dyeing, and china-painting.
