Fushimi Castle is in southern Kyoto, not too far from the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine.
The castle itself used to be a museum but it closed to the public in 2003. In 2007, the castle grounds reopened to the public and are free to enter. It’s a great off-the-beaten-path spot in Kyoto to enjoy the changing seasons.
