A beautiful natural gorge with a relaxing walking path running alongside the river.

The gorge is crossed by a series of unusual bridges and is only a 10 minute walk from the center of the town. There is a small cafe on the water’s edge serving tea and sweets made by a local chef and known for its red umbrellas. There is a shrine nearby, a dedication to the poet Basho and plenty of small trails to explore. The most common path is about 1.3km long and runs from Kurotani Bridge to the Kohrogi Bridge.
