A no-frills but delicious kushikatsu izakaya inside Aji-no-Kouji (Flavor Alley), at Shin-Osaka Station.
What’s Kushiya?

Kushiya differentiates itself by using an original oil blend — made from several types of vegetable oils — to fry its kushikatsu. The chefs make all of the skewers freshly on the day, using seasonal vegetables.
As well as kushikatsu, the izakaya also serves other Osaka favorites like takoyaki and okonomiyaki. However, where it really shines is in its affordable teishoku (set) meals.
We chose the tuna-bowl set from a solid selection that included the chain’s famous kushikatsu. It came with udon, kushikatsu, and a small serving of pickles — all for ¥980.
If you are wanting to order separate items, prices start from ¥100 for individual pieces of kushikatsu. Drinks include beers, highballs, and sours, and start from ¥500.
