FAAM is a museum dedicated to contemporary Asian art located within the Hakata Riverain complex. It claims to be the only museum in the world that systematically collects and exhibits Asian modern and contemporary art.

Although admission to the museum is free, there are often admission fees on exhibitions in the galleries.

Entry to the permanent exhibition in the Asia Gallery is ¥200 for adults, and ¥150 for university and high school aged students. Children of junior high school age and under can enter for free.

How to get to Fukuoka Asian Art Museum

Hakata Riverain is located adjacent to Nakasukawabata Station on the Fukuoka Subway. It’s also an easy 12 minute walk from Tenjin Station or a slightly longer 18 minute walk from Hakata Station.
