A famous UNESCO World Heritage Zen rock garden located on Ryoanji Temple grounds in Kyoto. There are 15 larger rocks against a white sandy backdrop, and the garden in its entirety is said to represent the immensity of the ocean with islands dispersed throughout.
One of the mysteries of the garden is that from any given spot, you won’t be able to see all 15 rocks—one will always be hidden from your line of sight.
