Formerly Métissage, this is a small but delightful bakery serving freshly baked bread, pastries and sandwiches to take away.
The bright-blue bakery is easy to spot and the shelves are lined with equally eye-catching items. Offering treats that wouldn’t be out of place in Tokyo’s top bakeries you can try seasonal fruit baked into delicately-woven rolls, Italian-inspired bruchettas and crisp croissants that are just the right amount of flakey. Perfect if you’re heading out for a day of exploring or arrive into town feeling a bit peckish (but truly – who needs an excuse for freshly baked bread?).
We haven’t visited since the bakery changed its name (and presunably ownership) from Métissage to Ukigumo so we’re not sure if the concept has changed.
