A small shrine dedicated to the cats of the island, there are plenty of statues as well as real life cats to admire.

Legend has it that an island cat was accidentally killed by falling rocks and local fishermen who had been collecting the rocks decided to bury the cat at the local shrine. Becoming neko-jinja, the shrine is now populated with dozens of cat statues and quite a few real cats too. It’s located in the middle of the island, close to the Shima no Eki rest stop.
