As an homage to conveyor belt sushi, an art project called “Rolling Sushi” is sending giant floats of the good stuff down the Dotonbori River in Osaka.

Osaka is the birthplace of kaiten (conveyer belt) sushi and it gained worldwide popularity after an appearance at the Osaka World Expo in 1970. Beloved by both residents and tourists of Japan, you can see the tasty morsels recreated in art form and longingly wish they were edible. Sad face.
