Dazaifu Tenmangu is a stunnning Shinto Shrine just outside Fukuoka in southern Japan, shown in its full glory here using the latest 4k technology. The shrine was founded in 905 after a prominent scholar, Sugawara no Michizane, was buried there in unusual circumstances. During his funeral procession, the ox resoponsible for pulling him stopped walking at this spot and refused to continue, meaning he was soon buried in his new resting place. The shrine attracts more than 7 million people each year and to tempt more, this video from Dazaifu City includes festivals, daily life and the beautiful surroundings to tempt more people over.
